Wielding a light-gathering lantern, guests are charged with bringing light to darkness by unraveling stories and solving puzzles amidst a fantastical universe of remarkable interactive experiences and curiously colorful characters. Adults and kids alike will be captivated by this enchanting and whimsical journey where curiosity is constantly rewarded inside a realm where the boundaries between physical and digital reality dissolve.
- Visit our website (you’re already here!), select a day and time, and purchase tickets.
- Arrive and PARK. For the best experience, kindly arrive 15 minutes prior to your ticketed time. To preserve the light hunter orientation, we will not admit late arrivals (but will be happy to accommodate your group in our next available quest).
- Find your group and join the check-in queue. Let the Department of Wonder ticket agent know you have arrived.
- Your name is your ticket. Give your last name and experience time to the agent.
- Get ready to be #wonderized.
Get ready for a curious adventure! A Department of Wonder experience guide will welcome you to the Lamp Maker’s Shop where you will check in and receive your lantern. Your lantern will serve as your wayfinder during your visit. Plus, you can look forward to exploring the lantern shop as you wait to begin your quest.
It's very important that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your ticketed time in order to avoid missing your ticketed time slot.
Department of Wonder is located in Sugar Land Town Square at 2180 Lone Star Drive.
There’s plenty of parking around Sugar Land Town Square but we recommend parking in the Lone Star Garage at the corner of Lone Star Drive and Brazos Drive (across from PF Chang’s).
You should plan on being at Department of Wonder for about one hour.
We think it is! However, kids that are able to explore Department of Wonder independently will have the best experience (and so will their parents). Note: Children ages 3 and under do not need a ticket.

Department of Wonder is best experienced with the energy of a group . . . a group of friends, a group of strangers, or anywhere in between. As a result, we limit ticket inventory to ensure that full groups of guests enjoy Department of Wonder together. As groups of 20 are filled, we will open additional date and time options.

The health and safety of our cast members and guests is of the utmost importance. Department of Wonder follows CDC guidelines. We continuously clean all high-touch surfaces as well as nightly deep cleaning. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to wear masks, but it is not a requirement.
